- How flexible are meal times, bedtimes and routines?
- What activities happen here, and how often?
- When can family and friends visit?
Support and staffing
- Who is on site during the day, and who is here overnight?
- Is the overnight caregiver awake?
- How are medications stored and given?
- What happens if care needs change or increase?
The space
- Is the room private or shared, and what can we bring?
- Are bathrooms, hallways and entrances accessible?
- Are shared spaces clean and comfortable, and are people using them?
- Is there safe outdoor space?
Costs and agreements
- What does the monthly rate include, and what costs extra?
- Is there a deposit or move-in fee, and is it refundable?
- How much notice is given before a rate change?
- Does the home accept Medicaid, now or if funds run out?
After the visit
- Which questions still need an answer?
- When was the opening last confirmed?
- How did residents and staff speak to each other?
- Would the person feel at home here?
